Product Description
Lysine Iron Agar (Dehydrated) is a differential medium used to detect Salmonella species, including lactose-fermenting Salmonella arizonae.
It identifies Salmonella through lysine decarboxylase activity and H2S production.
This medium is particularly sensitive for detecting various Salmonella strains, including those that rapidly ferment lactose, which might be missed by other media like Triple Sugar Iron Slants. Salmonella infections (salmonellosis) are common bacterial diseases typically spread through contaminated food or water.
