These TLC plates are available with silica gel stationary phases coated on either aluminum or glass backing, providing flexibility depending on your application needs.
The silica gel layer typically has a particle size between 5-17 µm, pore size around 60 Å, and a high specific surface area (~500 m²/g), ensuring excellent separation efficiency.
Avantor’s TLC aluminum plates are flexible and can be easily cut to desired sizes, making them ideal for quick and easy sample applications. Glass-backed plates provide a rigid support for more precise analytical work. Both types are available with or without fluorescent indicators (such as F254) to facilitate visualization under UV light.
